I had an interesting experience last night. I can’t go into detail but this morning as I was saying my prayers and thinking about it, I was kind of saying to myself how much easier it would have been if things happened this certain way last night. It would have involved less people, it would have been quicker, it would have saved time…it just would have been so much easier! And then I was able to see the situation from another angle. I saw what would have happened if it would have been done the ‘easy’ way, the way I thought was best. And let me tell ya…it would have been much worse!! The outcomes could have set me back in my healing process…it would not have been easier! It would have made thing much more complicated. I’m so grateful for the power of prayer and for the gentle whisperings of the Holy Ghost reminding me to just TRUST HIM…He really does have everything under control.

ReplyDeleteThat is a really great quote. It makes going through trials a bit easier because we realize that as we go through hard times we will learn and be strengthened and then be able to help others. It makes us have true empathy for others and puts us in a position to provide encouragement because we have been where they have been (or have been in very similar circumstances) and have gotten through hard times with the help of our Savior and Heavenly Father. It gives us hope in our own lives, as we see the example of others who put their faith and trust in God during difficult times.
