I have been so blessed to know such amazing people in all of my adventures in life. And although I have known this I was re-reminded of it this week at my Dr's appointment (kind of a funny place to be reminded of this, I know). In High School I didn’t try out for sports because I was terrified of having to get a physical. I have always tried to be very modest and private. And then 13 years ago I broke my back and spinal cord and now visit the Dr’s regularly…and although I try there is just no way to always keep my privacy all the time. Thankfully I have some pretty spiffy wound Dr’s and ironically they are some of my bestest peeps! Who I visit more than I go to Walmart…and that’s really sayin something :) I know they care about me and for the most part their visits are something I look forward to, and I am pretty sure they feel the same way. I mean...every time they walk in the room whether it be in clinic or the hospital I ask them if they missed me and they always say "YES"...so it must be true!
My surgeon told me the other day that getting this wound healed was one of the things he wanted to accomplish before he died...so I asked him if that meant that I was on his bucket list! Hey whatever it takes to get this thing healed! :) I am grateful for Dr’s and nurses who are my friends.
I also have some dang awesome friends in my life. I have been able to get to know some great people since being back in Maryland and am constantly amazed at how people have overcome adversities in their lives and how they are where they are right now. What great examples of faith and hope people can be! And because of their great example it helps me to keep going knowing what they have gone through and have still been able to keep their cheery countenances. What a great life I have!
And then…
There comes a times in people's lives when they have to make a change and move away. I know that we will all be ok...but sometimes I just don't want em to leave! Within the past month or so there have been multiple close family members and friends, who have moved or who are in the process of moving. And while I am happy for their new adventures and experiences, I will miss seeing them on a regular basis. They have all touched my life in countless ways and I am so thankful I have been able to spend time learning from all of them.
Well I am off to play with my cute niece and nephews who are some of the people who I will miss…
