Nephi's Perseverance

Well, it has been way too long since I have written on here but as I was reading the Book of Mormon today I was reminded of the need to keep trying, try again if the case may be. The Lord wants us to work hard and push ourselves, for that is where we learn and grow! One year ago yesterday I was discharged from the hospital/rehab after the wound surgery. If you would have told me that it would take 5 1/2 years to heal and many surgeries I would have wanted to give up in the beginning. But thankfully I didn't know and tried to just keep swimming and doing what I could to get healed. I am so grateful that it was in the Lord's timing that it healed. I frequently am reminded of huge blessings that have come from being where I am at RIGHT NOW! If it would have healed years ago I wouldn't be where I am right now. I love my life! I love where I am at and love the people in my life that have helped me get to where I am and that have blessed me through their friendship and love! I couldn't have better family and friends!! THANK YOU!!

Here is my thought from the scriptures today :) The Lord commanded Nephi to get the plates. It took him 3 attempts. Just because we know we are supposed to do something doesn't mean The Lord is going to make it easy and drop it right in our hands. We have to try, sometimes fail, but remember to try again. His desire was righteous. He knew he was doing what The Lord wanted. It didn't make sense that they couldn't get the plates the first or second time. But we have to keep trying. Keep working hard! Even when we fail. We can't let failure keep us from accomplishing our dreams and our purposes in life. Keep going! Keep working hard!  Don't give up!
