Life's not fair!!!

One if the most common lines spoken by a child is, "that's not fair!" Which is often followed by an adult  responding "life's not fair!" The other day my nephew said to me that line and I told him the usual response, but then I followed it with, but if life were fair you might be laying in the hospital right now with an illness. If everyone had everything the same you might be homeless, and begging for food. No life is not fair and I am very grateful for that blessing. I know I wouldn't be able to handle some of the trials that others face. I remember one night at institute, brother Webb said that if everyone put their trials on the table we would hurry and grab our own back. We are given what we can handle. Even though sometimes we have no idea how we can make it through another day. I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ who suffered in the garden of gethsemane and on the cross so that we don't have to suffer nearly as much. He has already taken upon himself our
hardships and sins and suffered the grief and pain that we may face.
Children are right, life is not fair! It is way better than fair!

Side note...My nephew was old enough to understand what I was saying, but for the younger ones I now respond with, "you're right! If it were fair you (the boy) would be wearing princess pajamas or (the girl) super mario pjs to bed just like your siblings." Haha they understand that much better.
