"I Met God's Will on a Halloween night, he was dressed as a bag of leaves..."

Tonight I was looking for a previous journal entry, and found this great thought from almost 2 years ago! It is always fun for me to be reminded of something that I had previously learned and thought about. It's like I am getting a spiritual thought from myself from years earlier!! :)

I was listening to a song by Martina McBride entitled, “God’s Will.” It is about a little boy named Will, who has physical and maybe mental disabilities. The song also literally means, God’s will, or maybe that’s just what I think…haha. But there is the line ‘I met God’s will on a Halloween night he was dressed as a bag of leaves.’ I wonder how often we can’t see God’s will because all we see is the costume (distraction, what is happening right now in front of us)…when His will is the actual person behind the leaves. Sometimes we can’t see His will till the following morning when we can see His will without the leaves (costume) blocking us or distracting us. His will isn’t always as clear to us as we want it to be, and sometimes we need to see past the cute costume and the things in this life that may be socially and physically difficult to get past, and see God’s Will: putting aside the natural man.
