My grandpa Bill passed away Monday night. My mom was running her fingers through his hair when his spirit left this world. My mom and both of my aunts and uncle Terrance were all there with him. My grandpa was a very giving man. He was always giving of his time to others. He was very frugal with his money. One day when I was visiting him in California, he gave me two $1 bills. I still have them folded up just like he gave them to me. His face would light up when me or his other grandchildren came over. He would forget a lot of things but he never forgot to eat! He was a healthy man. He had some great facial expressions. And it's fun when my mom makes some of those same faces that remind me of him. I loved the expression on his face when my uncle John would give him a hard time and he didn't know how to reply back or simply knew there was no point in saying anything because John would just keep giving him a hard time. It was nice though, John wasn't mean, he just liked to have fun and keep grandpa thinking! John knew how to calm him down so he didn't get to upset. Grandpa used to write cards to people. He used to be so good at it and would buy cards specifically for people. He was a great man and I will really miss seeing him when I am in California.
Here is a funny picture...my grandpa and grandma and uncle John. My grandparents have been divorced for over 50 years...we all got to spend time together! It was great! This was before we went to the Rose Bowl Parade.
And here are some of the pictures I have of my grandpa! Basically from 2006-2008.
Doesn't he have a great smile!!
I love you Grandpa! I am so grateful I had the opportunity to get to know you and love you. Can't wait to see you again :)
